Elderflower

The warm weather brings with it the flowering of the elderflower.  I had never heard of elderflower until last year when my friend, Beanie, told me she makes a cordial from the flowers.  Cordials are not a popular thing in the States so I really had no idea how yummy it was.  Beanie gave me a small bottle of her homemade elderflower cordial last year since I didn't know if I would even like it.  This year, however, she gave me two big bottles.  I have put one bottle in the freezer and one in the fridge.  The kids absolutely love it and so do I.  It is very refreshing on a hot day.  The weather looks like it will actually stay hot for a while and the kids will finish school on Wednesday so I can see us sipping our elderflower cordial in our backyard very frequently!
