Snails and slugs
On the way to Sofia's school there is a section that we walk that is loaded with snails and slugs. Sometimes you can see them when it is dry but they really come out in force on rainy days. I mean at least 20 large snails and who knows how many slugs. We have had a lot of rainy days lately so we have spent a lot of time looking at snails and slugs. The snails are quite large and the kids enjoy looking at them. They have learned that if you touch the snail they shrink up and if you pick them up they really try to shrink inside their shells. We see so many of them I actually went online the other night to find out more about snails! Not something I ever envisioned myself doing.

Perhaps "my" cousin Sofia would be interested to know that I've been eating snails here. It is in delicious white sauce and you just put the shell to your mouth and suck them out in one big POP of flavor. Still, some are a little slimy in the mouth.

We just got back from our first trip to Prague. We went for a lacrosse tournament in Radotin, it was really great. On that rainy day (25th) there were giant snails everywhere !
Anyways, we like checkin in on your blog. Hope all goes well with Sofia's surgery.
Leah,
I will definitely tell her that you ate snails. It will be interesting to see her reaction.
Kelly & Chris,
I'm glad you had a great time in Prague. I have to figure out a way to get Ireland on the vacation planning! Thanks for the well wishes for Sofia's surgery too!!
